Missing from the 1891 census?

Postby SusanG » Wed Oct 21, 2009 9:29 am

Hello everyone,
I'm stuck trying to find Edwin Charles Blake and his wife Agnes in the 1891 census. I can see them in the 1901 census living in Camberwell, they were both 38 years old and had a son William who was 14 and born in Lambeth. Edwin was an engineering pattern maker born in Devonport, Agnes was born in Clapham, but try as I can I can't find them in 1891.
Any ideas would be appreciated,
Sue

Sue
Are you sure they were married in 1891?

Jim, Yes they were married in April 1886 in St Pancras and William was christened in October 1886 in St Mary's Lambeth. Found both these on the LMA records at Ancestry.
Thanks for replying

Hi Sue,
check any childrens names in 1901 then go back onto 1891 look at any of the charles blake's that are on census, as i have found in the past some spouses dont always use their first names. I have one whose name is Emma but on later census is a Mary.

It will jump out and hit you promise
